What is HAZOP?

Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) is a process that is used to identify potential process controls, HSE, and operation problems associated with the design, construction, maintenance, or operation of a project.

  • Coarse HAZOP – Beginning study that identifies areas of improvement in regards to Control and Automation selection and alignment.
  • Main HAZOP – Primary Vehicle for Identification of HAZARDS, effects and operability problems
  • Final HAZOP: coverage of these systems such as vendor data, formal review of action responses from you.
  • Procedural HAZOP – The identification of hazards and operability problems arise from procedures. This inclusive of maintenance and other non-continuous procedures.
